We worked with Jared in Minneapolis. He was clearly extremely knowledgeable, very friendly, and easy to schedule with. We are very impressed by the program, and it has helped tremendously with our dog, Chip's (black lab mix) leash and dog reactivity and excessive barking inside the apartment. We look forward to continuing to help our dog be less anxious around other dogs. We are Bark Busters for life! Carson and Evan
Jared was an intregal part of helping my foster/rescue dog with separation anxiety. I knew I was unable to adopt Billy ( Golden Retriever) unless I was able to leave for work. I lived in an apartment and it made it very difficult to leave as he would bark nonstop at the door, scratch the door, etc due to the anxiety of me leaving. Jared helped share many tactics that made me confident enough to officially adopt Billy. I am able to leave Billy for a few hours a day now and am very thankful for the time Jared spent with us.
We had our training with Lydia, and even after the first session we saw a huge improvement. My husband and I had been dealing with a lot of issues that were very stressful when it came to leaving our dog Rose alone for any amount of time, and Lydia was able to teach us an easy technique for creating boundaries with Rose. As we've continued to work on the training on our own, and with several other session with Lydia, we have seen a vast difference in Rose's behavior. She is so much more comfortable, now, and she hasn't had any accidents on the floor since February! She is learning to listen to us when we need her to, and most importantly, we have seen a huge change in her separation anxiety, and anxiety overall. Lydia was very kind and understanding, and made sure to go over everything clearly with us so we understood how to do the training on our own. We are all much happier and less stressed, now, and we are very appreciative of the help Lydia gave us in getting there. :)
I cannot say enough about Michael's knowledge, his integrity, and his kindness. He helped us resolve a very difficult situation, showing empathy and compassion.
We just had the first session with Michael, and so far we are completely satisfied with our Bark Busters experience. Communication has been excellent our trainer laid out the steps in a way that was easy to understand, and we have already seen results from our training. We have scheduled a follow up appointment, but for now we are going to work hard at the skills Michael taught us so our pups become the best they can be!
Michael made the training extremely easy to understand and follow. We started seeing a different within a couple of days. One of our dogs took some extra care (she is super sensitive), but we had good success after some practice. It really does depend on your work habits with your dog. If you put in the time you will see results.
We had our first initial training session with Lydia from Bark Busters, with in minutes when we start the interactive session our Frenchie was a new puppy. We have problems with him barking and jumping on our guests. We could not have a conversation without him barking or climbing on us or our guest. Within minutes we were able to claim our area and have him quietly sitting in an area near us. He did not move or make a sound until I gave him the ok to move. We thought once Lydia leave we’ll be back to barking and jumping but we were able to take what we learned and applied it to other area and situation through the rest of the day and today. We’re able to claim our dinning area without him trying to climb into our lap or beg while we eat and assure him that we are fine when we go to open a knocking door and we don’t need him to jump or rush to the door and bark. We were able to talk to our landscaper without him barking non stop. We’re looking forward to our next visit to work on a peaceful outdoor walk!
Believe me…if you live in Mpls and have any issue with your dog(s), you must call Lydia and Michael of Bark Busters! I could kick myself for procrastinating (as I always do) for weeks after hearing about them from a relative. Moving from our big house in Duluth to a one-bedroom apartment in Mpls was a big adjustment for both Lucy and me. In the past 6 to 7 years Lucy had only guarded her bones, but now she slowly started guarding household items. It wasn’t fun watching this cute, previously funny vizsla take total control of my life. Of course, I was smart enough to figure out how to get my phone, shoe, remote back, but it was time consuming, enabling, and totally embarrassing. It took years for this problem to develop, and I couldn’t imagine how it could be solved. And then Lydia arrived at my apartment! That night I walked into bedroom to find Lucy standing over my phone. I said ‘drop it’ in a low, quiet voice……AND SHE DID! I still can’t believe that in ~ two hours Lydia trained both of us and I became the leader in this pack of two. Guarding was the most disruptive issue she helped us with, but my training list went on: front door barking, attentiveness, jumping up on guests, barking at other dogs, pulling on her leash. See what I mean by magic? Lydia is such a fun person to deal with and she obviously loves dogs and people! You can feel totally comfortable inviting this team into your home, so don’t wait like I did…call them!
Lydia came and helped us learn how to continue working through our dogs separation anxiety. She was respectful to us and our dog, and ensured we learned how to be great trainers. She never made us feel bad for anything that we have done prior to this session that wasn’t beneficial for our pup. She was thorough in explaining what we were doing. After one session, I have a lot of hope that we will be able to help our dog lessen his anxiety as he was a different dog when she left
I work at a vets office and have been seeing fliers for Bark Busters for a while! I wanted to check them out because my own dog could use some training and I wanted to be able to reccomend them to our clients based off first hand experience. I loved it! My fiancé and I were so impressed with our personable the whole experience was. Our trainers name is Michael and I would say anyone is incredibly lucky to work with him. We are looking forward to working with our dog and applying everything we learned. We can already tell a behavior change and it even seems as our dog is happier! Lots of mental exercise! I would highly suggest giving them a call!
Michael is an excellent dog trainer. He is good with both people and dogs. He's extremely pleasant, patient, and has a deep understanding of dogs and their behavior. Our dog seems in awe of him. Michael has helped us a lot with our rescue dog and taught us how to help Charlie be happier and more manageable. I really recommend his services.
Michael O’Leary from BarkBusters came to our home for a revisit/retraining session. It had been over a year since we started working with Michael. We have a 9 ish year old American Eskimo mix named Levi. We just adopted him about a year and a half ago. He had many issues but mostly we need help with aggression toward not only my husband but people and other dogs in general. He has come a long way, but we have had an escalation of barking at the front door, side door and yes, the back door. When Michael arrived at the front door, Levi was his true self. He was barking, jumping in the window sill and at one point growling. I tried all of my tricks, but it actually turned into quite a circus. Me trying to claim the space and him running around and avoiding me and my existence. Finally, I got a leash on him and brought him to his bed. I felt very defeated. Michael was very good at helping and reminding us that we needed to take back control. After about an hour of instructions and demonstrations and trial runs we feel back in control. Towards the end of our session and I was feeling confident about how to deal with claiming my space a neighbor just happened to knock at the door. I used the methods taught to us in the last hour and Levi stopped barking and immediately went and laid down in the other room. Exactly what I wanted him to do. The difference between when Michael arrived and when he left was NIGHT AND DAY. Amazing!! I highly recommend Michael O’Leary at Barkbusters.
Very impressive session with Michael O'Leary teaching us how to establish boundaries with our 9 year old Cocker Spaniel, Zeva. We just needed a brush up course, to deal with a few issues. Excellent advice and pointers from Michael will surely do the trick. Thanks so very much, Michael!
I didn’t know what to expect with Bark Busters home training all I knew was there was nowhere else to turn. Our house was chaos and my Morkie was out of control. Barking, excessive biting, showing his teeth and tearing up the house I couldn’t imagine how things would change. Michael the trainer spent three hours with Jack my dog, and myself going over methods to work on these behaviors. He was so patient, and professional going over everything we needed to work on. I couldn’t ask for a better trainer. After our session I felt hopeful that Jack and I would have a great relationship and that we would enjoy the life I had hoped we would have. I have been doing my homework and I see improvement already. I thank Michael so much and I am looking forward to the the continued relationship With Michael and the Bark Buster team.
Overall, everything has been so organized and helpful. Our trainer Mike is awesome! He’s been very patient with us and makes sure we understand everything clearly. I highly recommend training with them if you have any concerns with your dog!
Michael was great with walking us through all the steps to help us gain control of our house again while making our dog feel safe. His directions and step-by-step process were easy to follow and I love how the process is about establishing a sense of mutual trust with our dog. Our dog is very reactive with lots of barking whenever guests come into our house but with consistency, our dog is responding to our commands and settling down in a space that is safe for her. We recommend working with Bark Busters if you feel like you’ve run out of options on how to train your dog. There are no gimmicks here, just consistency and communication!
Michael was awesome! He came prepared and ready to help. The results spoke for themselves after our first session and I look forward to learning more from Michael.
We are so pleased with our Bark Busters initial training for our little Anita. She came to us from Mexico, where she had been attacked by another dog. She was left with multiple bite wounds, her leg broken in two places, and serious trust issues. Since she came to live with us, she was very reactive with other dogs and people. Michael spent more than the planned 3 hours with us, first discussing Anita and all we wanted out of this training. Next was teaching us how to "talk dog" and claim "leader of the pack" status. By the time he left, Anita was a different dog. She is learning that she isn't in charge. Her job is to be our companion. We have daily practice to do, and many of the techniques are already part of our daily routine. Hiring Bark Busters is an investment but worth every penny to us. We feel reassured knowing that we will have support for the rest of Anita's life as circumstances arise. We highly recommend Michael and Bark Busters.
With the very first session, we saw a big difference in our pup's behavior. He is so much more attentive now and is really learning his boundaries. This method makes so much sense and is truly effective. I highly recommend this company.
Michael is wonderful. Prompt, enthusiastic, patient, creative--he clearly loves his work and loves dogs. What I really appreciate is that he quickly picked up on how my dog and I operate (or try to operate!) as a team and continues to come up with training ideas that work for us. Michael is very easy to work with, and the Bark Busters approach (learning to speak dog) has worked very well for me and my Lou! Well worth the investment!!
A+!!! Bark Busters is amazing. Even by the end of our first session, we saw results and felt empowered, and confident that we WERE going to have a well-behaved canine member of our family. We literally went from feeling hopeless about our current situations to feeling excited about our future with our dog. It’s a game-changer, people!!! Much thanks and genuine gratitude for the help from Michael with Bark Busters.
Michael has been extremely helpful as we train our dog, who can be problematic with resource guarding. Michael helped us take a step back and address the issue from a psychological perspective. Neither my husband nor I had ever had a dog before, so this service has been extremely valuable. It’s much better than trying to Google problems yourself and was more beneficial than traditional puppy obedience school as well. He is very prompt with email and scheduling and is always on time!
Really excellent service provider. I would characterize this as learning to communicate with your dog. Michael's methods were really intuitive for our dog and we have really been surprised at how easy and quickly our dog's behaviors have been improved. Highly recommended!
Lydia is an excellent trainer! Very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. She listened to the multiple issues my new lab and I were experiencing and was able to address them all by providing knowledge of dog behaviors and why. Our training sessions were insightful and easy to understand and implement. Within one session I experienced a huge difference in my dog’s behaviors. He stopped dragging me during walks, jumping up on me, waiting for me to enter doorways first, and gives me space when needed now. Thank you Lydia and Bark Busters! Wasn’t sure I was going to be able to keep him and now we have a happy home.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! We needed someone to help us with our little literal ankle biter. Michael was extremely knowledgeable and patient with both the pups and the humans. We saw a noticeable change in behavior with everyone after only 1 session! Thank you!
Mike was amazing to work with! He provided amazing insight into our dog's behaviors in a way that was both professional and empathetic. Saw huge improvement in our dogs behaviors and anxiety levels in just one session. Can't wait to use the tools and skills Mike taught us to continue to work with our dogs. Could not recommend this program more! Thank you Bark Busters!
My German shepherd mix has some issues I was having trouble addressing. Michael knew just what to do and I have already seen amazing results. I am a better leader and she is a much happier "pack" member. A GREAT experience!
Thanks to Michael, we now have ways to stop pie from barking at the doors and helped us learn how to understand how to control her on a walk without getting the agressive barking and puffing the hair up on walks by other dogs. We are so glad to have such a great trainer like Michael!
My wife and I have recently had problems with controlling our dogs energy while at the door along with some sibling rivalry. Mike recently came out for our initial consultation, and even during this first session I could see significant changes using the Bark Busters methodology. Mike was able to explain the methodology very well, answer all of our questions, instructed us through the exercises, and got us confident to do them every night. It's only been 2 days since he came out, but the level of control we now have over our 3 dogs is mind blowing. I couldn't imagine faster progress.
I called Michael at the recommendation of my vet because my 5-month old puppy had been exhibiting some resource guarding behaviors. The first session was nothing short of magic. I watched my tiny ball of energy turn into a calm, attentive pup without the use of treats, force or intimidation. By communicating with her in a language she intuitively understands, both of us are calmer. I'm learning to speak her language, which has already improved our relationship and given me the confidence to address some of the behaviors I've been concerned about. The session ended with practical exercises for us to work on. I enjoy watching her learn, and she seems happier knowing what is expected of her. Five stars hardly seems like enough.
We hired BarkBusters to help with our rescue pup who has had a tough life, deals with anxiety and aggression, and needed some basic skills training. Michael came in and really got to know not only our fur baby but also our family. He was so personable and responsive. Answered all of our questions with so much knowledge and skill. With just one session, we are already feeling like we are setting our dog up for success and feel like we have the tips and tricks to have him be the best dog we know he can be. We truly feel like we have the tools to get dog in order and it is like a weight has been taken off of our shoulders. We HIGHLY recommend BarkBusters and specifically, Michael.
I am not one generally to write reviews but I feel compelled to let others know about the great and immediate results that we saw while working with Michael for only three hours. Homer came to us as a rescue dog, and while he is a sweetheart, he did have a few annoying habits. He was a jumper, a barker, a terrible leash walker and had no regard for personal space. I say was because within a few hours of training and a week of follow up, Homer has made such noticeable improvement that several visitors to our home made comments about his improvements and how much he changed in the course of just one week. Homer is not our first dog and we were determined not to make the same mistakes that we made with our other fur babies. Michael was able to quickly show us some basic "dog speak" and "dog moves" that allowed us to help Homer understand the rules of our home. Michael has been responsive to our needs and has reached out to ensure that we are successful with our training so that we can help Homer be his best as well. I would whole heartedly recommend that you give Michael a chance with your dog and see what can happen!
We hired BarkBusters to help with an out-of-control adolescent dog who at times seems resistant to training. Michael came to our home and in the first session, we were able to establish some basic control and listening. He taught us really low-tech and simple solutions, grounded in dog behavior, that has been working well so far! We have more work to be done, and I love that with this program you sign up for lifetime support. We can email or call with a specific question and get support or a visit, so we don’t feel alone in this journey.
We began to see results immediately with a senior dog who we love, but his behavior was becoming a possible liability. Working with BarkBusters taught us a few simple moves that immediately got his attention and helped him be a "good boy." Now it's up to us to practice, practice, practice!
Michael and the Bark Busters method are amazing!!! My rescue dog came with a barking problem, and there was no way I could get it under control. I was embarrassed when someone would come to the house, and he frightened people and dogs in my neighborhood. Because of this, I didn’t have much hope that Michael could help. During his first visit, there was an incredible change in my dog’s behavior…truly remarkable! I am so encouraged. Michael continues to be available for encouragement, support, and training.
Bark Busters literally changed my life! Michael is so patient and positive while he worked with my family and our fur baby. I had so much stress and anxiety with my dog’s constant jumping and general bad behavior, that I didn’t even feel comfortable walking her in my own neighborhood. Now Sophie listens to me and I 100% feel comfortable bringing her places. Cabin weekends with her are finally relaxing! I highly recommend Bark Busters. Thanks Michael for your help!
After 1 month of virtual training we have a different dog. He is paying attention to us, happier, and more relaxed. Lynne gave us tools as well as examples on how to correct the inappropriate behaviors. She watched us on video to make sure we were following directions and doing it correctly so as not to confuse the dog. I was amazed at the difference in one month.
When I read reviews that stated Lynne's clients saw results on day 1, they were not exaggerating! I saw results in my 11 year old dog and our 6 month old rescue dog. My fiance and I were in shock. We knew we had great dogs but we now see endless potential. Lynne clearly knows how to speak "dog". She is a dog whisperer ?. We look forward to improving all 4 of our behaviors around our home.
Lynne was kind, patient, encouraging and full of wisdom. We have experience with dogs but we were struggling with our overly anxious dog. She taught us great ways to help him understand and how to help us!
Our trainer Lynne was so helpful. Worked with us on new strategies and empowered us to learn and do the behavioral exercises. We have continued to practice after a few days and already notice a difference. It's also comforting to know we have follow up help available if needed.
We are so grateful to have found Lynne! We have a smart and sweet rescue pup who is also anxious and has developed into quite the little protector, especially at home. We could hardly have people over because she was so territorial. We had worked with other trainers and mostly focused on obedience but knew we needed someone who could help us address the behavioral issues and anxiety more directly. Lynne's approach was perfect for us and we've seen great progress already as we've learned to be stronger leaders for Lady and help set more clear boundaries. Lynne gave us a ton of tools to work with and has helped us develop action plans, but she's very mindful of the individual dog and home situation and makes sure our plans are realistic and something we can and will follow through with. I've already recommended Lynne and Bark Busters to other friends who are struggling with anxious dogs and need some more clear direction - we're excited to keep working with her and see Lady grow even more.
My husband and I had been committed to nonstop research to help our paralyzingly anxious rescue pup when were referred to Lynne by several friends and neighbors who had been navigating the needs of their own unique rescue dogs. We are tremendously grateful to have been given this recommendation and would like to now pay it forward to any puppy parents who may be in a similar position- because Lynne is absolutely the expert for you. Lynne’s methods have yielded profoundly noticeable results while simultaneously maintaining goals that are realistic and respectful of our dog’s own unique timeline for his development. It is clear in her technique and methodology that her absolute priority is communicating with each dog exactly where they are and keeping a sharply receptive eye on their cues indicating their current level of security. After just one session, her guidance has already provided a much clearer understanding of the balance between nurturing and challenging, healthy trust and anxious attachment, and so much more. Her methods are well-researched and clearly customizable to any dog’s needs. We are grateful for her calm and assured presence, transparency, and compassionate assertiveness that we ourselves has been pursuing so desperately for our fearful little guy. We are thankful for the tremendous results achieved in our first session and are feeling educated and empowered with our goals and exercises to continue our growth moving forward! Thank you, Lynne! And all the best to our friends in the same boat :)
Lynne was a great trainer for Ollie my Cocker Spaniel. He was a very anxious dog and had separation anxiety issues and thought he was the boss of the house! Lynne taught me how to become the leader and Ollie is doing better and much more confident. Now we have a happier dog and that makes for a happy home! Lynne did a follow up visit today and she could see the progress Ollie is making. Thanks Lynne!
Lynne was remarkable!!! I truly do not know where to begin besides saying that she saved our dog, Dakota's, life! Dakota had several aggression issues due to extreme anxiety and with Lynne's help and support Dakota is a new dog!!! Our other two pups are doing wonderfully as well.. they are older and have been trained to not go on the sofas or bark ... With practice and consistency these pups are turning a noisy household into a calm relaxed home... Well besides the crazy kids of course!? Thank you very much Lynne!!!
We have been doing the tasks Lynne gave us and already in a month have seen improvements in our pups. What took us years in our older dog is taking way less time to train into our newest rescue. We look forward to continued improvements and working with Lynne. Already tell all our friends and family about her.
Lynne was fantastic! The first meeting delivered much more than I ever thought possible. We worked on so many issues with such positive results so quickly. I felt totally prepared to work daily with my dog on the things we learned until our next meeting.
Lynne has given us hope. She carefully watched our dog's behavior and gave us recommendations for training steps to try to help him overcome his separation anxiety. We know it will take time, but we are seeing progress towards the goal of reducing his fear and gaining confidence. Our training is customized to our dog and instructions specific to life in our home. We are dedicated to following the training plan and know that Lynne is available to help us along the way with modifications as needed and insight into behavior so we can adjust the plan to help relieve his separation anxiety. Thank you,
We are so delighted with Lynne's training for Willie! We noticed a total improvement immediately after the training. It's helped so much and was a great value for what we received. We've also had her back for a follow up which was also very helpful. Lynne is very positive and encouraging to both our pet and us! We highly recommend Bark Busters and Lynne!
Lynne has seriously been a blessing. We had a lot of guarding issues with our dog and in home training felt like the last piece of hope to work with our dog. I wish I would have done it sooner. Lynne took the time to get to know our dog and gave us great tools that worked right away with Buddha. He also pulled like crazy on walks and she was able to show us how to walk properly with him without using a prong collar. Whenever I have a question, Lynne gets back to me right away. Buddha's guarding has almost completely disappeared and it has only been 3 months. Lynne has been absolutely amazing!!!
Lynne came out to help us understand our pup Larry. He is a normal 6 month old puppy except he is an English Mastiff that currently weighs 125 lbs. We were guided on how to effectively handle Larry in situations such as excitibility and table surfing. In the short time Lynne was with us we got to see what a great dog Larry can be as long as we follow through on our end. Lynne left us with great resources and materials.
The results after one training session were truly amazing. Lynne made last minute accommodations in her schedule to meet with us before the long holiday weekend. We went from being embarrassed, frustrated and helpless dog owners to calm, confident and proud pack leaders. I can't say enough about how positive this experience was.
Bark Busters saved us! No joke! They first came out to help us with crate training and then our second training was working on hyperactivity and jumping. I must say, they have been great. They are always there to assist with random questions and give us the support we needed. Thank you for everything you have done! We highly recommend them!
Lynne was very helpful in teaching us different techniques to control Winnie’s protectiveness and aggression, especially in our home. She is definitely calming quicker to distractions and we are beginning to feel less anxious about her behavior. Practice is key here but Winnie is making steps each day. Thank you Lynne!
Lynne was just awesome!! We have a 6 mo old bully that is 65 lbs.he constantly nips at our feet, and jumps up on family, and anyone that comes into the house. My family was in total amazement working with Boris, she transformed him into a loving pup that listens to commands, and in just 3 hours!!!! We all took turns working with Boris, and even went outside with him.we continue to work with Boris everyday for short periods.I love Boris, so much, and with Lynne's guidance, we are on our way to having a well trained, smart,l oving, caring member of our family. the best money we ever spent!!!!!!!!! Thanks again Lynne, you are awesome!!! Tom
Lynne was amazing!!! Both Parker and I learned a lot!!! Parker is 12 and has been dealing with separation anxiety since 12 weeks old. Although we may have some work to do, I did see some changes immediately out of Parker from the very first session! I can’t wait to see what the next couple weeks will bring!!!
Lynne was great to work with and my dog had a lot of respect for her. The first few lessons are already working great!
My first lesson with Lynne, and both of my dogs, was awesome! I received way more information than I thought I was going to get. The methods used by Lynne to teach my dogs how to behave properly are very appropriate. I had tried pretty much everything I could think of and the methods provided by Lynne made a difference even after just a single training session. I am excited to see how this training will affect my dogs’ and my life. She is not only helping us with their excessive barking but also with basic commands, separation anxiety, off leash walking, etc. The handouts that she provided are great for me to read on my own time and they help me develop the training mechanisms she showed me when I’m home alone with the pups. Love the work that was provided by her so far. Also, she has been very quick when it comes to replying to emails and phone calls.
Lynne was wonderful with Malcolm. Even only 3 days into his training, he is so much more attentive and obeying boundaries, door behavior and not tackling the cats. We are so happy with the small changes in his behavior and anticipate even more as we go down this journey.
Lynne was so good with every part of the 1st training session! I was so encouraged after that. My kids responded well to her. She was so patient with us. I’m so happy with the results we have already had with just one session!
Lynne came over for a session with my dogs and we are so thankful! She was able to give us the knowledge and tools to work with them on the things they need to improve on. She was very aware of the different demeanor of the two dogs and was able to work with both of them to help us come up with a training schedule that will help them both. We feel so much more prepared to work with our dogs and couldn't be happier!
Amazing instructor! Very positive and gentle. Totally prepared and calm! The very best!
My two young female pups have a history of sibling rivalry with fights that began to turn violent. We had done other dog obedience training and had other home trainers come help us. After the first and hopefully that last serious fight that broke out, I had lost confidence in myself as the pack leader, and my abilities to provide these two dogs a healthy, safe home. In desperation I contacted Bark buster. Lynne was hands down, just outstanding. The visit felt thorough, and not rushed. She took the time to get to know and really tailor the training to my girls. She observed the family dynamic and pointed out things that I really needed to see. She was open minded to our family needs such as sleeping on the same bed together, but with tips and ways to still get the results we so desperately need. It was very hands on training with the dogs. The most gentle, yet effective methods we have seen. Not to mention the encouragement of follow up visits as needed. The care and compassion to see us succeed, to not feel guilty about maintaining a relationship and asking for help when needed means the world to us. Our only option left before Lynne was to re-home one of the girls which would have left us completely heartbroken. Now we have the support and right tools to keep our family together, and for us humans to be better care takers. More than just obedience, and more like human to dog coaching. If you are thinking twice about trying this service, think no further! Worth every single penny. Thank you Lynne for saving my family!!!
Lynne came over and helped me with some issues I've been having with my dog since moving into my new home. My dog has been barking more at people and animals that pass by, barking a little aggressively at people when they enter my home and at people/other dogs on the other side of the fence. She gave me some simple tips and I've already seen a difference just in one day! I'm able to stop her as soon as she starts barking with a simple word and prevent it if I can anticipate it about to happen. Yesterday afternoon it seemed like every dog in the alley behind my house was barking except mine! She was relaxed and initially wanted to join in on the barking but I was able to divert her attention quickly and she relaxed. Oh and when my roommate came home, instead of lunging towards the door barking she sat at a distance quietly and waited until I gave her the ok. I would definitely recommend Lynne to anyone having similar issues!
Lynne was so patient and kind to us. She never judged us or made us feel bad about our shortcomings. It was amazing to see how quickly Cain responded to the training. I look forward to applying the techniques in the weeks to come.
Lynne was amazing in teaching me how to handle Chewie as well as how to bolster his confidence in smart ways whilst reminding me that I am the leader of the pack. I'm recommending Lynne to everyone I can! I saw results within the first hour!!
Lynne did a fabulous job with Lucy. We have notice such a big change just after the first session. Lucy will now let us answer the door without barking like crazy, her walking on leash is incredible and will jump in the car when we are leaving places. It's amazing with the tools Lynne has taught us and made such an incredible change in such short time. Thank you Lynne
Very helpful and brought piece of mind working with Lacey and knowing we can help train her.
Lynne was very helpful with both of my dogs. I’m so glad she was clear with me that for my anxious dog I’m going to have to be patient with him. I know both of my dogs can improve with hard work and training. I’m glad I hired Lynne.
Lynne was amazing and she gave us a demonstration of her 'magic' in the first few minutes she arrived. Our dog is so beloved but she can sure get wild. She was a barker before Lynne arrived. We live in a multiple dwelling housing situation so it was very disruptive to others...it had to end. After Lynne gave us the proper tools we can settle her right down and avoid the 'please be quiet struggle'. Lynne is very professional and knowledgeable. Well worth the investment in such an important member of our family and we enjoy her even more now!
The training was a technique that I had never experienced previously. Even the second day after the training I can see a big improvement with walking and just being more in control. He responds well and is excited to please. I am very glad to guide him on his journey to becoming a well disciplined dog with these new techniques.
Our trainer, Lynne, visited yesterday, and we have already experienced a night-and-day difference in our dogs' behavior. Both dogs can now walk on a leash without pulling (they used to pull so hard they were constantly choking themselves). The dogs no longer bark at people in the alley or bark while in the backyard. One of our dogs is neuortically anxious, whines incessantly, and needs 100% attention 100% of the time. Within the last 24 hours his whining is now 1/8 the amount that it was and he is content sitting on his own while we watch a movie. I wish we had spent the money years ago!
Lynne and the program are amazing, by the time Lynne left our house we had already noticed a difference in Sammy. As we continue to work with Sammy, we have noticed even greater improvement with his aggressive barking, and have cut that down to a minimum, all within three days.
Lynne was a huge help!! My recently adopted dog started showing aggression towards other dogs and it was turning into a huge concern. I found myself avoiding other dogs at all costs and it was making walks a chore. Lynne helped me understand the source of my dog's aggression and gave me the skills I needed to work with my dog. She was extremely thoughtful in her approach to training and I felt like it was very tailored to my dog. She also worked with my schedule and offered additional resources and opportunities to work with my dog's reactivity to other dogs.
Lynne has been an invaluable resource for all of our dogs. She has helped me to understand the 'why' behind the behaviors, and guided me in how to adjust my own response and be a more confident dog owner. Lynne is personable and easy to work with. She is patient and knowledgeable. She is easy to reach, and makes herself available within a reasonable amount of time. I give her the highest recommendation, without hesitation.
Lynne was amazing with the dogs! She stopped incessant barking from both dogs and taught us how to handle it ourselves. By the end of the day they were waiting at the stairs, keeping out of the kitchen, staying off countertops and had stopped the barking. It was amazing!!! She gave the tools to do it ourselves and was so patient in teaching, us, the owners . We were ready to give up and tired of yelling, now there is peace. THANK YOU!!!!
We worked with Lynne Willeke and had an outstanding experience with her. She was patient, kind, and non-judgmental when it came to working with our rescue pup, Wally. I can't say enough good things about our experience with her. We were dealing with Wally's fear-based aggression around strangers, and as dog owners we were overwhelmed. We went through group training at an obedience school, but it was hard to translate the lessons to our home life. We liked that Bark Busters helped us deal with the issues in the place they were most prevalent - home. Lynne came in, assessed the situation, and gave feedback that was positive, realistic for our lifestyle, personalized to Wally, and also helped us shape Wally's mind set and our ours as owners (which is the most important part!). Lynne is very knowledgeable and you can tell she truly cares for her clients. I would recommend her services and the Bark Busters methodology in a heartbeat!
We are so happy with Bark Busters. Lynne gave us the tools to deal with our dog's behavior. I can now "loose leash" walk with my dog and have no worries when we run into fellow dog walkers as our dog will just ignore them. I now enjoy taking him for walks. Additionally, Lynne continues to support our training efforts with our dog's occasional aggressive barking when other dogs walk by our yard. It's reassuring that I can continue to contact Lynne for extra help. If you are committed to the training, you will see great results! My neighbors continue to tell me how well behaved he is. I highly recommend Bark Busters.
Lynne's help with our Italian Mastiff, Kona, was invaluable. At about 90 pounds, Kona pulled her way through our walks, which made it impossible for me to walk Kona and our lab, Legend, by myself. Lynne demonstrated how to practice walking with Kona using a harness around her chest rather than the choke-chain I had been using. All of that together transformed the experience of walking Kona and now I don't hesitate to take the two large dogs out on my own. Lynne also helped us with some of Kona's aggression and barking issues. The small "Bark Busters" attention getting pillow works wonders. When Kona begins to bark, all we need to do is pick that up and she immediately stops barking. Thank you, Lynne!
After the success another family member experienced (almost immediately) with Bark Busters, I decided to give it a shot after years of contemplating training for my dog. I am so impressed with our first lesson. Our trainer, Lynne, just left and we seem to already have a good handle on getting the jumping, barking and door dashing under control. My sweet but rather stubborn dog is now listening to my via firm yet gentle commands. It's such a relief! Even my dog seems happier knowing that I am in charge. I will be recommending Bark Busters to all my friends and family. It is worth EVERY penny.
I was losing confidence and control of dealing with my dogs aggression towards other animals The training was excellent in showing me the tools to be a good leader, communicate well, and to have successful tools to work with my dog.
Impressive! Lynne is friendly and professional. She taught us so much useful information in the hours she spent with us and our 6 month old German Shepherd. We put Lynne's training to work the very next day and have worked with our dog pretty consistently every day and have noticed extensive improvement! We have even been able to take him on 1 mile walks! (prior to training with Lynne, we didn't even make it out the driveway). Its fun and exciting to work with our dog and see him gain more confidence every week!
We adopted a two year old Coonhound and wanted to make sure we addressed his issues right away, the right way and Lynne helped us do just that! Burt is an amazing dog and Lynne read him in the first half hour and was able to tailor our training specifically to how Burt learns and communicates! For example, Burt was pulling on his leash during walks. It didn't matter the collar, the time of day, or how many treats we had nothing worked. Lynne was able to show us techniques that start inside before we even go outside. She also helped show us how we could better communicate with Burt what we wanted from him. I honestly think that's why the at-home aspect is so integral to our success. Burt is shy and timid wherever we go, and to truly see our issues you had to see him where he's most comfortable. It's amazing how something that was so stressful has turned into something our neighbors will stop and compliment Burt on! Lynne is amazing with our dogs and so fun to work with. What we really appreciate is the ability to follow up with her, especially by email, and the follow up visits are so helpful! Thanks Lynne!! We so appreciate the time and care you put into our family!!
Without Bark Busters, and specifically the help of Lynne Willeke, our rescue dog, Jerzey, would not be living with us today. In tears, and as a last resort, I called Bark Busters for help. Lynne was extremely knowledgeable, understanding, passionate and dedicated! She helped us break Jerzey's bad behavior and also taught us how to work with Jerzey on a daily basis. We cannot thank Bark Busters enough for rescuing Jerzey and helping her stay in her forever home. Thank you!!!
Lynne was so sensitive to our dog's needs and temperament, and is tailoring a program specifically for her. We were so impressed with Lynne's expertise, kindness, compassion, and genuine care for our dog. Based on only one visit, we are hopeful that Gracie's fear will diminish.
Lynne helped us to safely and effectively integrate our 3-year old adopted lab/whippet mix to our household with two cats. When we got our dog, Norah, it turned out she had a serious prey drive and poor impulse control. We were so stressed and frankly scared by the time we called Lynne. We are so glad to have the lifetime guarantee because we are able to not worry about adding an additional session, sending an email, or having a quick phone conversation when things get hairy. This also allows us to address Norah's behavior holistically because we talked about improving recall and manners while walking. She also responds really quickly which is great. Don't get me wrong, it takes hard work from humans too, but you will be 100% supported in it. She's kind, compassionate, and very patient with humans too!
We're so happy to work with Lynne. During our initial meeting, she spent a lot of time with us and our lab puppy, Frankie. She was patient and encouraging and reassured us that we are dealing with some fairly common issues. In just one week's time we've already noticed a big change. Frankie is barking less, doing better on walks and has even mastered the handshake! We're really looking forward to continuing to work with Lynne.
Within a few hours of Lynne's arrival, Adele was a totally different dog. Racing from one end of the house to the other and jumping on us was a real problem. Trying to run out the front door when my daughter left and trying to restrain her was wearing me out. I couldn't walk her because she is so strong and would just keep pulling until she got to where she wanted to go, not where we wanted her to go. It only took Lynne a few hours to teach Adele some manners. She walked on a leash by our side, she doesn't jump on us or visitors and hasn't run a race in our house since that day in April. I can't say enough good things about the Bark Busters training.
Lynne was wonderful with the dogs and an excellent coach for the dog owners! We learned a lot and are already having success!
We are so grateful for Lynne. The creative knowledge she has just amazes me all the time. ThorFinn was very close to being put down because of his aggression when Lynne came to us. She has been so patient and kept reassuring us that, yes, this is serious, but some hard and consistent work on our part that would be needed. The progress that has happened in ThorFinn is awesome. He's been on a walking path, with people walking by, bicycles, wheel chairs, skate boards, and there's been no reaction on his part. Lynne has taught us how to read our dog's body language with the head and tail, and to use the "Bah" command. If I need to change or cancel an appointment, Lynne is so willing to accommodate, and quick to answer the email or text message. She is very approachable, communicative, and knowledgeable.
Lynne was wonderful. She worked with me as well as Ivy and taught both of us how to better communicate with each other. I have seen so much improvement since she has been here. Ivy will run with me and have slack on the leash and she is getting so much better with recall in the yard. I have been able to refocus her with the "bah" and clapping or the training pillow. Thanks so much for your help Lynne! I'm so happy with my pup's results so far and hope she continues to get better as we work on it more.
Lynne is a lifesaver. Tessie is the sweetest dog but has had a tough life and so is not very trusting and acts assertive when she is afraid. Lynne worked with me from rockbottom to build on the skills Tessie needs to be a well-adjusted pup. For example, about a month before I started working with Lynne I went to a massage therapist to help me with neck pain I sustained from WALKING my dog (really, being walked by my dog). The massage therapist asked me if I had been in a car accident because she believed that I had whiplash. Now, Tessie walks at my heel and does not pull me. Its a night and day difference. Also, Tessie was malnourished and likely not fed at all for quite awhile when she was left by her original humans. She would eat the food I gave her so quickly and sometimes get sick from eating too fast. Lynne identified the problem and gave us the game changer to use. Tess is doing WONDERFUL! with it. I have nothing but gratitude and appreciation for what Lynne has done for me and my dog.
We were very happy with the results of Lynne's work with our dog. Her explanations were always clear and understandable. She listened and thoroughly responded to our concerns. Our interactions with our dog are much more enjoyable. We're all looking forward to lots of good experiences thanks to Lynne.
Lynne did a great job explaining the process and giving us the tools to work with our English Springer Spaniel Puppy, TJ. He was a very headstrong boy. Lynne taught us what we needed to do to re-establish ourselves as the leaders. At the time we were unaware that TJ was really sick, so we thought he was doing amazingly well. After a week's stay in the hospital he was back to his headstrong self. We had Lynne back out a month later to go back over everything again and she finally saw TJ's personality. We re-applied all the skills we learned with a couple of calls and emails back and forth to help where we got stuck and now today at 6 months old, we have a great family dog! No more jumping and biting. He listens when we call and can actually relax outside of his kennel. We would highly recommend Bark Busters and Lynne to anyone that is looking for personalized one on one training. We will call her again if we have any other issues that we need help with. Thank you again Lynne for all your help!
My adult dog had a history of barking in our home as well as on walks particularly when I stopped to talk to someone. And barking and pulling were the norm when we passed other dogs. There are also some bites in my dog's history. I had been working with another trainer for a year or so with a food reward based system when my dog bit a dog at doggie daycare for no apparent reason and may dog was asked to leave. Heartbroken and out of solutions, I called my vet to discuss putting my dog down, he advised me to call Bark Busters. So in March 2014 my dog and I began working with Lynne Willeke. My dog improved with her first session of Bark Busters training. On another session, we added a way to refocus her faster with the Bah command, and the aggressive behavior on walks completely stopped, immediately. People we regularly passed on our walks noticed the improvement and commented. Everyone agreed it was a miracle. Now there is no excessive barking at home or when we walk. If there is a slip, a command generally brings it under control. If my dog spots another dog walking toward us and that dog appears nervous or aggressive my dog will just move off the sidewalk to the boulevard to create more space as we pass. I HIGHLY recommend Bark Busters, especially Lynne. Not only did Bark Busters training work for my dog, but it works for other dogs as well. On our walks we regularly pass three very large dogs in their fenced yard; they bark a lot and loudly. I simply give everyone the Bahh command followed by good dogs and peace reigns. Today I was alone and saw them; they just came to the fence and wagged their tails! From a very satisfied customer and a happier dog or should I say dogs?
Our dogs are 8 and 10 years old (both rescue dogs). We thought it was too late to train them and they both showed ability to learn and significant improvement in behavior after only 1 session.
I couldn't believe the immediate response! Raisin has been doing really well. No one would believe the change after the first 2 hours if they didn't witness it.
Lynne was great to work with. Very patient and understanding regarding the issues we were having with Kody. She was always quick to respond when we had issues or questions and helped tailor the training to work with Kody's unique personality. I would highly recommend her!
AMAZING!!! We have a new dog! We went from not wanting to go home, to loving Ben greeting us at the door =) Lynne was so great to explain why certain actions work and why others work better. Being able to rationalize why actions are done, really help to understand your dog and Lynne was so in tune with what we needed. If anyone ever asks me about dog training, I always recommend Lynne and if they aren't close by us, I still recommend Bark Busters =) Thank you again Lynne! You saved us!!
Resolved the biggest issue I had with Chevy which was aggression when someone came to visit. He bit one person so I knew I had to work with a trainer. He now knows his boundaries and his space. Barking was an issue also which is better when I catch him right away. He now knows I am the Alpha person and he respects that. Walking was also an issue but am using the halter and he is easier to walk. He DOES NOT LIKE the halte but resigns to my using it.
Here's the email I sent Lynne: Just wanted to say thank you for our new dog Mavis. She has been totally transformed from the day you were here. Very little barking and will stop when we tell her too. She follows us everywhere. She is more cuddly and she drops stuff when we Bah at her and will stay in the yard if we tell her to. We are loving our new dog! Your training was truly transformative. Ever grateful, Erin and family
